YOGA
Sara has been practicing Yoga since 2002 and draws on her background as a professional dancer and choreographer which gives her over 20 years of experience of talking, watching and connecting to the moving body.
In 2011 Sara trained in Bikram Yoga, which she has taught all over the world including London, New York and Los Angeles and now regularly in her home city of Glasgow.
"l wanted to teach Bikram yoga because l loved practicing it and in London l had many inspiring teachers, at the time l also practiced other types of yoga that l loved equally but one of the things that made Bikram most appealing then was the inclusivity of the practice. Bikram is simple, effective, direct and importantly inclusive. As an avid yoga enthusiast l always felt and saw that Bikram was truly open to all and that is who l wanted to teach.
Since 2011 Sara has gone on to train and study many other styles of yoga including Fierce Grace, Vinyasa and Pregnancy Yoga. She is also influenced by the Sri T. Krishnamacharya lineage and is currently studying Kundalini Yoga.
"When teaching in any yoga style my aim is to facilitate a space that feels focussed and held and uses the body/asana and the breath to come into a state of presence. l want to stir in people a connection and experience of that space of presence and concentration that its truly freeing them from everyday stresses and is deeply nourishing."
